Weeks like this – bombings, terror threats and arrests – make it hard to remember that fundamental civil rights are a part of any democracy.

Luckily, the folks at the Electronic Frontier Foundation are here to remind us. EFF, which has sued AT&T Corp. and other phone companies over their alleged co-operation with the National Security Administration’s eavesdropping program, recently won the right to pursue their case. That’s today’s HotSpot.
