Please welcome another Spot-on writer, Mike Spinney.

Mike will be concentrating on technology and politics as he does today in his post about “spyware.” Sound scary, doesn’t it? It is – if that’s what you call it and in this particular conversation, Mike observes, names mean a lot. You might also have a look at his post on “Net Neutrality.” It’s an idea – a good one. Maybe too good, Mike suggests. He’s got a nice sensible perspective on things – not exactly your usual tech commentary – so we expect a strong and lively reaction to what Mike has to say.

He’ll be posting here every Wednesday and, of course, you can read his posts via our RSS feed or via MyYahoo or Bloglines.

Tomorrow, Thursday, Spot-on founder Chris Nolan will be talking about Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s all-but-announced presidential bid with Maryscott O’Connor from MyLeftWing. The show – Should HRC Be The Nominee? – will air on KALW 97.1 here in San Francisco at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Those folks are web-savvy, however. This is Internet radio, too and KALW’s got an on-line archive and we’ll point to it, when it’s up.

Nolan’s written a little bit about Clinton here and here.

On Saturday, Nolan’s moderating the final panel at BlogHer, the annual convention of women writers on the web. BlogHer’s – which also sells ads for us here at Spot-on – is pretty much sold out. But there are sure to be podcasts of the closing session which includes Six Apart’s Mena Trott, WashingtonPost.Newsweek Interactive CEO Caroline Little, “kitchen-table” activist Grace Davis and the one, the only, the incomparable Arianna Huffington. It promises to be a lively and exhausting day in San Jose and we’ll get you that podcast when it’s up and ready for you to listen.
