Today’s is PDF’s 2006 Conference and a lot of time is going to be spent on the topics of politics, media and technology.

For our money, the best example is one that almost everyone in the New York/San Francisco tech/political circles, overlooks. Why? Well, it’s dull. In the way civic activism and local policy making – the fundamentals of political action – are quietly conducted and managed in cities and towns everywhere. The Greensboro City Council race ain’t the Howard Dean campaign but more people live in places like Greensboro than work for Howard Dean.

So today’s Hotspot goes out to Greenboro101, the collection of civic blogs for Greensboro residents interested in local politics. The man who is responsible for much of the, Ed Cone, also gets a nod. You want to see the future of on-line politics? Look to Greensboro.
