There are lots of reasons to quarrel with journalist Carl Bernstein’s pointed but nevertheless eloquent call for an Senate investigation of the Bush Administration. In some sections, the piece, today’s HotSpot at Vanity Fair’s website, reads like an indictment.

The Ghost of Watergate stuff also gets in the way. It’s a little bit like the Ghost of Vietnam aura that haunted the Kerry campaign making it so tedious for those of use barely able to remember that war. But Bernstein makes some good points – particularly when he reflects on the bi-partisanship of the Watergate investigation by both parties – that are worth your time and attention.
