This week’s headlines provide another excuse to remind you loyal readers of the good, smart writing here at Spot-on.com. So here’s a worthwhile tour of our archive.

Christopher Brauchli took at look at Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad earlier this year. After reading, you might come to the same conclusion Maureen Dowd articulated this week: What are they thinking at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?

We’ve also given you 360-degree look at the immigration issue.

Chris Nolan took a look at trends in San Francisco that don’t bode well for liberal Democrats – locally or at the national level. Deborah Klosky took a few moments to describe how the Spanish feel about how we treat visitors – like suspects – and Scott Olin Schmidt spent a few moments wringing his hands on behalf of fellow Republicans.

For more – with the national security angle built-in – have a look at these posts (here and here) about the arrests of two Pakistani immigrants with “suspected ties” to Al Queda. The whole thing was suspicious at the time and now – now that the trial of these two men is going poorly for the government – it seems that the Department of Justice has screwed up. Again.

Over at Salon, our pal Joan Walsh is reluctantly bashing away at one of Spot-on’s favorite punching bags author Caitlin Flanagan. Well, we said it first and we said it for free. Wanna read a stay-at-home feminist Mom with both feet on the ground? Deborah Klosky is our favorite spot-on Mom. She should be yours as well.

As always, thanks for reading.
