Welcome once again, Quattrone searchers. It was a good week to be Frank Quattone, wasn’t it?

The news last Monday that Silicon Valley’s once (and future) premier investment banker’s conviction on obstruction of justice and witness tampering has been vacated by a federal appeals court was not unexpected. Lawyers watching the case have predicted this turn of events. And, of course, if you’re one of Quattrone’s many Silicon Valley supporters it’s a sweet vindication.

Even sweeter: Friday’s late news that the Securities and Exchange Commission has ruled that Quattrone can return to the banking business.
